Adrian Barclay, a top New Zealand hairdresser from Invercargill, is named Hair Expo 2009's New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year at the Hair Expo 2009 at the Sydney Convention Centre. Adrian Barclay, the proud owner of Venom (Salon) in Invercargill, admits it was an exhausting experience.. but is ecstatic about the award and the opportunities and recognition such an award brings.

Adrian Barclay now hair Expo Hairdressers of the year headed off some stiff competition from other New Zealand hairdresser finalists including Michael Beel, Mana Dave and Wayne Hartley.

The Judges who award the trophy represent leaders in their field, including: former award winners, key representatives in hairdressing training and education and influential Australian and International hairdressers, who assessed Adrian Barclay 's portfolio  of submitted work which also takes into consideration his business management skills and commitment to the NZ hairdressing industry.

Adrian Barclay's achievement places him in at the top of the New Zealand hairdressing industry.
