Celebrity hair and makeup artist Dale Dorning gives us his insider tips for staying fresh and fabulous when travelling BE PREPAREDWith restrictions on what you can take on flights, it's a good idea to decant your moisturiser and powders into travel-friendly containers. Separate your skincare and any liquids into clear zip-lock bags, just in case of leakage, and so you can find everything at a glance.
pro tip: Carrying a hand sanitiser is a must: it kills germs and dries instantly.
FACE FORWARDI love tinted moisturisers that hydrate and infuse skin with a splash of colour. Mineral powder compact foundation is great, combining a foundation and powder in one. (1 Try PROOF Mineral Powder). Makeup primers with an SPF are perfect for travel, preparing the skin for other cosmetics no matter what the climate. Always look for one that has an SPF of at least 15. (2 Try PROOF Retex Face Primer).
pro tip: Aspirin: good for redness and pimples. Crush and dissolve slightly to apply. Eye drops work well, too.
LIPS, CHEEKS + EYESIt's all about hydration when travelling and (3) Lucas' Papaw Ointment, can be mixed with lipstick to create a soothing balm for sore or dry lips.
pro tip: Curling lashes before a quick coat of waterproof mascara will not only lift your eyes, but make them appear brighter (4 Try Benefit BADgal waterproof mascara).
HAIRMix leave-in conditioner with a light mousse and apply to damp hair. Loosely plait hair when wet before securing with a hair bungee. Simply take your hair down, shake it and you're ready to party.
pro tip: Dry shampoos are perfect when you're on the move (5 Try De Lorenzo's et Absorb).
BODY TO BODYSally Hansen Airbrush Legs, is a body makeup that gives coverage and colour - no need for a spray tan!
