Sexy curly hair styles Hairstyles for curly hair, soft and sexy or just a little more demure -a head of well-tended curls is set to be the look throughout the coming months. Louise O'Connell discovers that in hair trends what goes round comes round. Making waves works - and curly hair girls should rejoice...
Fashion's catwalk hairstylists have announced that sexy curly hair is de rigueur and straight, hot ironed hair is over. However, hairstyles for curly hair can be a difficult look to get right for the office if you also enjoy looking well-groomed. One of the trendsetters -Paul Windle, owner of trendy London hairdressers Windle.
The salon's reputation is built on taking hairstyles from "catwalk to kerb" and it is also a training ground from which many catwalk hairstylists hail.
So it is no surprise that the salon is at the forefront of the new wave, using large barrelled tongs and is a far cry from the tight perms of the 1980s. The new wave is groomed and luxurious.
Paul Windle says: "Today's curly hair is natural looking but firm as opposed to frizzy and tight, and it shouldn't be messy." If you do not want to commit to permanent waves then buy a pair of tongs that can create a wide range of curls, and heats up in minutes.
What fashion declares in vogue is not always office-friendly and often curly tresses if not tended correctly can look merely unkempt. Joel Goncalves, UK director at John Frieda, says: "Make sure your hair is cut into a good shape that suits curly hair - long layers work best."
Use a wide tooth comb to separate the curls and always use a good styling product to control frizz. "Once you have controlled the frizz it is much easier to make your hair look groomed," adds Joel.
This season there are plenty of chic hair accessories that instantly smarten a head of wild waves, yet highlight the fabulous texture of sexy curly hair styles. |
