Ponytails for long hair on the long red carpet

At the 2009 Golden Globes, a lot of stars were wearing their hair up in chignons and French twists. Some stars went an entirely different route, however: formal ponytails. Dexter actress Julie Benz, above, pulled her blonde locks back into a ponytail, around which her stylist wrapped a band of hair to conceal the elastic. This ponytails for long hair has a sweet, girlish look.

The Starter Wife's Debra Messing took the Ponytails for long hair in an entirely different direction. Her hairstylist blow dried Debra's hair to look wild and curly before pulling it back into a ponytail. It's highly likely that all that red hair doesn't belong to Messing, though - it looks like she's using extensions to achieve that length.

Finally, Beyonce Knowles chose to wear her hair back in a refined low ponytails for long hair. It was a good choice, exposing her pretty shoulders and keeping with the elegance of her Elie Saab gown.
