THE Brisbane School of Hairdressing is running an educational, three-day Winter Workshop for high school students to give them a genuine insight into hair styling. Held from July 5 to 7, the personal development program is suitable for participants aged 14 to 18 and will cover topics such as building confidence and self-esteem, job seeking and communication skills. Students will also pick up tips and tricks for personal grooming and have a sneak peek into the industry. A highlight of the program is a makeover students receive on the final day - to keep them looking cool for school.
The course is priced at $140 for three days and runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm at the Brisbane School of Hairdressing in the Queen Street Mall.
The popular workshop began in 2002 and director Lina Wood said it would be ``fantastic'' for anyone considering a career in the fashionable hairdressing industry.
``The course will be a taste of what the industry offers, giving participants a look at where a career in hairdressing can take you,'' Ms Wood said.
``From working in a salon, travelling the globe on a cruise ship, styling the hair of the rich and famous or working part time with children, hairdressing is a fantastic career that will take you places.'' Tel: 3229 2999
