My kids are pretty fussy about their hair. They stand in front of the mirror putting all sorts of sticky junk in it so it looks just right just like a hairdresser. When they first started doing it I was quite worried, but other parents said their kids did exactly the same thing.

Hairstyle the beginning - Primitive man tied back his hair so he could see what was going on in the world. It was a matter of survival. If he had hair in his eyes he wouldn't see the sabretooth tiger snoozing in the long grass. Cro-Magnon man probably used a strand of mammoth leather to confine his locks. He didn't care, or even know, how his hairstyle looked as long as he had a 20/20 view of his rather hostile surroundings.

Teenager out of job because of Dreadlocks
Ex Green MP Nandor Tanczos is outraged a teenager lost the chance of a job at a major supermarket chain because of her dreadlocks hairstyle. Liesa Lumby, a 16-year-old from west Auckland, was interviewed for a job at Kelston Foodtown and says she was told in a telephone call a couple of days later the part-time job in the seafood section was hers.
