Sun girl Toni Jones playing it safe with her long blonde locks WHEN one of the world's most stunning women copies another celebrity's hairdo, you know there's a new must-have style. Last week, gorgeous actress Cameron Diaz strolled into an LA salon clutching a pic of blonde supermodel Kate Moss and demanded: "Make me look like that."
I've been growing my hair for years, but I'm also a shameless fashion victim. So when the Sun's Woman team were looking for someone to try Mossy's new messy super-blonde rockchick bob I raised my hand.
The messed-up look fits perfectly with party girl Kate's lifestyle. But we wanted to see how well her high-impact, high-maintenance look would work in real life.
Of course, I don't look anything like the Croydon-born supermodel, but with my nickname "Where's-The-After-Party Jones", I figured that if anyone can rock Kate's crown I could.
Heading to the swanky Daniel Galvin salon in London's West End, I started to feel nervous.
Soon I was in the chair of one of the world's leading hair colourists. Daniel loves Kate's look: "She likes to look like it's permanently 4am and this very bright, choppy style suits her lifestyle perfectly." But he didn't recommend an all-over bleach blonde like Kate's for me, so ace colourist Amy doublehighlighted my hair to achieve the same effect.
Daniel said the beauty of this look is that once the blonde starts growing out and the roots come through, it looks even better.
I couldn't look as stylist Lucy hacked into my hair with her scissors. But once my fresh, light bob had been styled and blow dried, I couldn't wait to show it off. Since hitting the bleach bottle and going for the chop last Thursday, I've been road-testing my new hair at bars, restaurants and parties (all in the name of research, of course).
It has given me more confidence and I've been bagging the best tables in restaurants, getting served first at busy bars and even breezing past security in London's hippest hang-outs - just like Kate! It's dream party hair: the perfect look and bouncy feel for a summer of festivals, Ibiza beaches and garden parties.
I always thought longer hair made me feel sexier but this new style gives me bags more confidence and my husband LOVES it.
Plus, my mates say it makes me look younger and that HAS to be a good thing.
With thanks to the new Creative Team at Daniel Galvin. |
